The Bluegrass Area Development District (BGADD) is celebrating a significant achievement within its ranks.

In August, the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) recognized BGADD Community Planning Manager Greyson Evans as one of 41 individuals to earn the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation.

The CEcD designation is an impressive acknowledgment, symbolizing the pinnacle of skill and commitment to economic development. It establishes a benchmark of excellence, highlighting those with exceptional technical expertise, comprehensive conceptual knowledge, and mastery of economic development strategies.

Greyson's achievement highlights his dedication to personal and professional growth and reflects his commitment to advancing economic development.

"Achieving the CEcD designation is the highest honor for economic development professionals," President and CEO of IEDC Nathan Ohle said. "CEcD designees are leading economic development efforts in their regions, driving more equitable economic outcomes for the communities they serve."

"The training that I received through OU EDI and preparing for the CEcD exam hasn't been just an investment in my professional growth but has been directly transferrable to the work that we do with Industrial Authorities in many of our counties," Greyson said. "We're in a position where most of our communities have at least one available very attractive piece of industrial property, and it's an exciting time to be involved in economic development in the Bluegrass."

This accomplishment highlights the Bluegrass Area Development District's ongoing dedication to fostering economic growth and development within its region.
